Helpful Suggestions:
It is recommended that the Bride-to-be schedule an
appointment for a Consultation at least 6 -12 weeks
prior to the wedding. Even the most daring of modern
day brides tend to shy away from hair color for the
big day. If ever there was a time to help Mother
Nature, your wedding day is it. How to get the job
done with no tears and guaranteed results is easy
if you follow these guidelines.
1. Plan ahead. If this is the first
time that you're having your hair colored, you need
to find a good colorist. Your best bet is a personal
referral. From several people whose hair color you
admire.
2. Call the salon and request a consultation, for witch
there is usually no charge. The colorist should ask
questions about your lifestyle, how much time you have
to maintain your color, what you think you want, whether
or not your hair will be exposed to the sun on your
honeymoon, and the colors in your trousseau. Skin and
eye color should also be noted. Bring several photos
that express your vision of what you desire to have.
It can be extremely helpful since stylist tend to be
visual.
3. The colorist should be willing to explain the various
options that are available. These include semi-permanent
color which can be done in a very subtle manner and
gives the hair a wonderful shine and highlights witch
are always popular. Tint, which is more lasting but
also requires more maintenance. Highlights are always
popular as, they add dimension to the hair and are
very flattering in photographs and videos. When done
with skill, they can provide the look of hair kissed
by the sun. Every good consultation should include
a quote for the cost of the service. If the colorist
doesn't mention price, don't be afraid to ask.
4. Plan to have your color done about two weeks before
the wedding so that if adjustments are need, there
insufficient time for them to be made. Also bring your
headpiece to the salon, so that stylist who will be
finishing your hair can work around it. This is also
a good time to choose color for your eye and lip and
to have your make-up done.
5. As the big day draws, near map out some time for
self- pampering by following these guidelines: Five
days before, a facial and a massage will relax those
tense muscles and clear up any blemishes. If your hair
color needs some last minute attention, this is the
time to address the issue. Three days to go, schedule
a pedicure and waxing. The day before, leave time for
a manicure.
6. This is it. Your wedding day! Take
a nice hot bubble bath, and soak until you feel the
stress leaving your body. Go off to the hair stylist
wearing something that buttons down the front so you
don't have to pull anything over your head. If possible
arrange to have a professional at the house to make
last minute repairs to hair and make-up. Walk down
the aisle confident that you look radiant and beautiful,
with your hair your crowning glory.
P.S.
If you are the mother of the bride or groom, all
of this applies to you as well. In fact even more
so, as you really deserve to be good to yourself.
